Koto no Tsuki ("Moon of the Ancient Capital") is Itoen's selected koicha-grade matcha — stone-milled tea leaves yielding the characteristic deep sweetness and rich umami that defines premium ceremonial matcha. Its full body and long sweet finish makes this an ideal step-up from usucha for those exploring koicha (thick tea). The 20g tin is elegant for both tea-ceremony hosting and personal use.
Key Features:
• Koicha (thick tea) grade — rich, contemplative sipping tea
• Stone-milled (ishiusu-biki) — full leaf aroma
• 20g tin — tea-ceremony and home-use friendly
• Crafted in Japan by Itoen
Preparation (Koicha style):
1. Sift 2 tsp matcha into a bowl
2. Add ~30ml hot water at 80°C (175°F)
3. Slowly stir back-and-forth until smooth and viscous
Alternatively as usucha: 1 tsp + 60ml water, whisked.
